ROLI Lightpad Block M Expressive Musical Touchpad

Designed for stage musicians, production studios, and sound designers at any experience level, the ROLI Lightpad Block Studio Edition is a tactile control pad with an illuminated, reactive surface that enables the user to shape sounds through five dimensions of touch including strike, glide, slide, press, and lift. This Studio Edition includes an updated suite of desktop software that combines cutting-edge sounds, effects and production tools. The Studio Edition includes the ROLI Studio Player and the ROLI Studio Drums, which offer over 500 sounds with over 300 MPE sounds. Also included, a full version of Strobe2 from FXpansion with over 1100 classic synth sounds plus an analog modeling engine for creating your own. The Lightpad Block is made up of 225 LEDs arranged in a 15x15 matrix and features a semi-soft, smooth, texture with undulating microkeywaves, allowing for multidimensional performances. The configuration of the pads is controlled by the ROLI Studio applications, which include Studio Drums, a cutting edge MPE drum plugin and the Studio Player, which offers a ton of melodic content. The Lightpad Block truly shines when used with the Studio Drums, as MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) allows you to bend and warp sounds with 5D Touch, create grooves instantly with intuitive gestures, and adjust up to 4 audio effects simultaneously. From the software, you can reprogram its interface for a variety of playing and production modes. For instance, the Drum mode provides a 4x4 matrix of individual drum pads, which is great to the Studio Drums, while Melody mode offers a 5x5 grid for the Studio Player. The Effects mode allows the control of up to four effects slots simultaneously in both the Studio Player and Studio Drums, as well as Macro mode which can control of three macros for every preset. The ROLI Dashboard program enables you to use the Lightpad Block as a MIDI controller for other applications, such as Ableton Live and Logic Pro X. It transmits MIDI over USB and Bluetooth, allowing it to be used with computers, tablets, or smartphones. Expand your system by connecting the Lightpad Block to other ROLI Blocks via magnetic DNA connectors. The built-in battery provides up to 10 hours of operating time, or use the included USB cable to power the controller via USB. To speed up your creative workflow, additional software and tools have been included, such as ROLI Studio's Smart Chords, Multi-Layered Arpeggiator, and Macros and Effects, as well as Ableton Live Lite, and a 6-month trial of Max MSP, a free-form environment for plug-in development.
