Ibanez Gio Electric Guitar GRG121DX - Walnut Flat with Gig Bag
The GRG121DX is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2012. It is as part of the entry-level GIO line. The GRG121DX features a one-piece maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth inlays and two covered humbuckers with a 3-way selector switch. It is a hard-tail model. For 2018 the rosewood fingerboard was replaced with treated New Zealand pine and bridge was replaced by the F106. For 2019 the 3-way pickup selector was swapped out for a 5-way lever. For 2020 the fretboard was changed to purpleheart. Initial production from 2012 through 2014 was in both China and Indonesia. From 2015 through 2017 it was produced only in Indonesia. From 2018 production was moved to China. The GRG121EX is a similar model with dot fretboard inlays. The GRG121SP is a similar model with a cheetah-patterned pickguard and white dot inlays. The GRG120BDX is a similar model with a tremolo bridge.

With the guitar held in the playing position, there is one knob and one switch along the lower edge of the body. Closest to the neck is the five-way pickup selector switch. Closer to the input jack is the tone knob. The volume knob is located right above the five-way pickup selector switch.
