Ibanez GRX - 40 - TFB, 6 Strings Electric Guitar, Right-Handed, Tri Fade Burst
This guitar is a budget priced guitar for people that truly care about tone and features. It’s a solid Agathis body Strat-style guitar. It has a great-looking metallic finish with a pickguard. The chromed bridge is a non-locking; six-screw with whammy bar. It has 22 medium-sized frets with a rosewood fingerboard, good Maple neck which is slim so it's really easy to play and it's a bolt-on so you will have easy access to the higher frets. Pickups are passive: Humbucker STD-H3 (Bridge), Singlecoil STD-S2 (Middle) Singlecoil STD S1 (Neck). It has a volume and tone knob with a 5 way pickup switch. This configuration makes it pretty versatile. It's a pretty solid guitar. It has a unique string-thru-body tremolo bridge that is unlike any bridge you may have seen before. You can move it both up and down (Pull and push), not just down like most guitars. It is useful for beginners to understand and practice the dive bombs and other whammy bar techniques very well. This guitar suits any music well. When turned up to full volume on both the amp and the guitar itself it can make some real noise. The GRX guitar can be used for Clean Sound, Blues, Rock and Metal so it suits almost all of the music styles. The guitar can make many sounds, but there are too many to explain, so let’s move on!! The sound is really bright. For a nice clean, put the volume on your guitar to about 2/3, choose any pick up you want, put the gain on the amp, on 2/3; bass on 8, mid on 6, and treble at 10, don't forget to put the tone knob on 10. Heavy music like Metallica also sounds good on it. It isn’t noisy; the sound is also pretty good and very versatile. The Humbucker definitely sounds good on clean and overdrive and is pretty powerful! The Humbucker is great for chunk and solos. The centre and neck single coils also provide their share of bite. The middle (Centre) single coil is reminiscent of Stratocasters and the 1st (neck) single coil has quite lush, open sounds, mimicking an acoustic guitar. The middle pickup is also reverse wired so when the neck and mid are played together it forms a hum-cancelling single coil tone monster! This can sometimes be noisy, but moving to a different pickup selection or fiddling with the tone and volume controls solves this easily. You can probably use this guitar for every type of music that involves a guitar! It has great range and can do everything from jazz to death medal and all in between. It also sounds sweet with treble all the way up. Tone range is incredible. This baby comes perfectly out of the box, nothing loose, the bridge is properly routed, and everything is in order. The pickups are set perfectly, and the action is incredibly low. These guitars are set up excellent in the factory. This guitar can be pounded on, dropped, had stuff dropped on it, but it still plays like its brand new and it’s all because these guitars are built like a rock. The strap buttons are solid, the neck is a bolt-on; so its tight and solid, and everything is really well designed and put together. It's perfect for people starting out. You can use this guitar for gigs too; no problems at all. The hardware is perfect. It will last forever. Overall; it is an extremely good guitar, recommended to beginners or an experienced player looking for some new gear. This is a brilliant guitar as Ibanez gives you an amazing value for money.
